18 youths have gained valuable hands-on skills and new income opportunities after completing a three-week Basic Poultry Production course at the Naleba Youth Training Centre in Vanua Levu.

The training forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to empower young people with practical, livelihood-based skills that encourage self-reliance and support community development.

Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru acknowledged the participants for their dedication, highlighting that many chose to attend the training during the holiday period to invest in their future.

He says the skills learned through the course provide a strong foundation for small-scale poultry farming and other income-generating ventures, while also contributing to broader national development goals.

Saukuru reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding youth-focused programmes nationwide, ensuring young people continue to receive the training, guidance, and support they need to succeed.
