The 162 Fijians who returned to Fiji after completing peacekeeping duties in Sinai will remain in quarantine until they complete their 14-day period.

According to a government statement, all returning peacekeepers underwent symptoms and temperature checks upon arrival at the Nadi Airport and were immediately placed safely into quarantine.

It says tests were conducted at the Fiji Centre for Disease Control and all came back negative for COVID-19.

The troops will be tested again and will be released from quarantine only upon receiving a second negative result.

The statement says that while they look forward to reuniting peacekeepers with their families, it is important that this is done by adhering the current Government protocols for all citizens returning to Fiji.
