A new hope has been given to cancer patients in Fiji as $10,000 raised through Pinktober initiatives by IHG Hotels will support life-saving treatments and care.

FNPF-owned IHG hotels in Fiji, including the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva and Holiday Inn Suva have raised $10,000 during their 2024 Pinktober campaign to support the Fiji Cancer Society.

IHG Hotels say this generous contribution will help the Society continue its vital work in patient care, advocacy and cancer awareness across Fiji.

They say of the total amount, $5,000 will be donated to the Fiji Cancer Society, $2,500 to WOWS Kids Fiji, and $2,500 to Cure Kids Fiji.

IHG Hotels say through a series of fundraising events in October, including pink-themed cocktails, teas and spa treatments, guests and staff rallied behind a common cause.

They say this donation will directly aid in providing critical care for cancer patients and raise awareness about the challenges they face.

Portfolio General Manager of IHG Hotels and Resorts, Lachlan Walker says this generosity shown by the guests and the community has truly humbled them, as they came together with compassion to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by cancer in Fiji.

He says this donation will have a lasting impact, helping the Fiji Cancer Society continue its important mission of supporting patients in their cancer journeys.
