10 more people taken into custody in last 24 hours for drunk driving

10 more people have been taken into custody in the last 24 hours for drunk driving.

Police currently have 17 people in custody for drunk driving.

Over the last 24 hours, Police have issued 502 traffic infringement notices.

Speeding is a major concern as 165 drivers were issued traffic infringement notices for speeding.

Other infringements include careless driving, driving with expired license or failure to produce a license and illegal operation.

Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra is once again urging motorists to understand and think of those who have lost their lives through drunk driving, speeding and bad driving behaviour.

Mishra has urged drivers to think of their safety and the safety of other road users.

The current road death toll is 60.
