Serenia Ragatu hoping to make her mother and siblings proud

From a small village in Bua to travelling the world representing the country, 400 metres athlete Serenia Ragatu continues to push herself as she prepares for the Coca-Cola Games next week

Ragatu who won gold for Adi Cakobau School in the Intermediate Girls 200 metres and 400 metres events at the Coke Games last year will be competing in the 100 metres next week.

Ragatu clocked a manual time of 12.34 seconds in the Senior Girls 100 metres in the Triple N Zone and is working to better her time with the help of fellow athlete, Jessie Vakaloloma who will also be competing in the Senior Girls 100 metres and 200 metres events.

The 18 year old says she is hoping to make her mother and siblings proud as they have been her biggest inspiration.

Meanwhile, the defending champions in the Girls Division, ACS will be fielding a total of 60 athletes to the Coke Games next week.

The Coca‑Cola Games will be held at the ANZ Stadium from next Tuesday to Thursday.
