Fiji will not be participating in the Vancouver and Edmonton 7s.
FRU CEO, John O’Connor says taking into account player welfare and safety and after consultation with World Rugby, they have decided to take the decision of missing the two tournaments.
He says their focus is now on Dubai and South Africa 7s.
World Rugby had confirmed there would not be any penalties for any team that is unable to attend a 7s series event due to COVID-19 associated travel or logistical issues.
