People coming in numbers to access electoral services at Fiji Showcase - SOE
It is Fijian Elections Office Tuesday at Fiji Showcase 2026 where over 500 Fijians have already taken advantage of the electoral services provided by the FEO team.

Supervisor of Elections, Ana Mataiciwa highlighted this to fijivillage News saying they have just completed their Your Election, Your Say or YES outreach project, and thought, why not provide the same services again at Fiji Showcase.

Mataiciwa says for those registering as a voter for the first time, all they have to do is bring their valid photo ID and their original or certified birth certificate.

She says once you have got your voter card, that voter card does not expire, and you do not need to get a new voter card for every election.

The Supervisor of Elections is urging those that may have moved and their address has changed, to update their details.

She says if they do not have the details of their polling venue on their voter card, please do come along and get it updated.

Mataiciwa says tomorrow is the first possible date that the Writ of Elections can be issued and the last date being 24th of December 2026.

She says if the writ is issued tomorrow, the first possible election date is on the 7th of August 2026.

The SOE says if it is issued on Christmas Eve, then we are looking at the 6th of February 2027 as the last election date.

She says it is really important for people to have a lookout for the information on the elections.

Mataiciwa is also urging for all Fijians to not only get registered, but to go to the polling venue and vote during the general elections when it happens.

She also stresses that once the writ is issued, the National Register of Voters closes, which means registration stops, and that also means the registration for proposed political parties stops, and nominations for candidates open.

First time voter, Sohail Krishna says he came to get his voter registration card with his two friends.

Krishna is urging those that have not registered to come forward and get registered and have their say during the general elections.

Michael Lepolo of Samabula was also at the FEO booth getting his voter card replaced.

Lepolo says he came down to Fiji Showcase on his day off with his wife for some shopping and noticed the FEO booth and decided to get his card done right away.
