Nanuku Resort fundraiser launched to support upgrades at Navua Hospital

Communities in Navua and surrounding areas will soon benefit from improved healthcare support as a new fundraising partnership with Nanuku Resort Fiji has been launched to raise funds for Navua Hospital.

This was highlighted during the launch of the Nanuku Resort Fiji Black Tie Fundraising Event, which aims to improve patient care, hospital services and infrastructure at Navua Hospital through community support and fundraising efforts.

Navua Hospital Board of Visitors Committee member Natalie Marletta says the partnership marks an important step for Navua Hospital, adding that the upcoming Black Tie event will feature prizes and auction items to help raise funds, improving hospital services, purchasing medical equipment and enhancing patient care.

Acting Sub-Divisional Medical Officer Dr Varanisese Tagicaki says the partnership will contribute to strengthening patient care through improved equipment, infrastructure support and better services for the community, describing it as a long-term collaboration to enhance healthcare delivery.

Nanuku Resort Fiji Human Resources Director Charlotte Steele says the resort is honoured to be part of the initiative, stating that healthcare and community wellbeing go hand in hand.

She says the resort has previously supported Navua Hospital, including the installation of privacy gates in the emergency department to improve patient dignity and comfort.

Steele says the resort's support extends beyond this contribution and reflects its commitment to creating positive and sustainable impacts in the communities it serves.

She also acknowledges the dedication of the Navua Hospital Board of Visitors in improving healthcare services for people in Navua and surrounding areas.

Steele encourages the public to support the event, saying healthcare is something everyone will need at some point.

The Nanuku Resort Fiji Black Tie Fundraising Event will be held on August 8th at the Pearl Resort and Spa in Pacific Harbour.
