The state of Israel is now in the process of arranging for a specialist doctor to arrive in the country to conduct a special surgery on a 2-year-old Fijian girl.

The Jewish doctors from Israel's Ear, Nose and Throat Team started screening people from yesterday.

20 cases were identified for surgery at the CWM Hospital yesterday.

They also identified the 2 year old girl with a unique issue that requires unique surgery. She has severe breathing problems since birth and the team is determined to find a solution for her.

Fijivillage has received confirmation that the state of Israel will fly another specialist doctor from Australia to Fiji from the same organization, Australasian Jewish Medical Federation.

They have coordinated the doctor’s flight and paid for all his expenses in order to bring him this Thursday to perform special surgery on the 2 year old child on Friday.

The team is here under the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Israeli Embassy in Canberra that is looking after Australia, Fiji and PNG.

They will be based at CWM Hospital until the 2nd of August.

The new Israeli Ambassador to Fiji has also arrived in the country to present his credentials to the President, Jioji Konrote.

The Ambassador’s arrival is coinciding with the anniversary of Israel's Humanitarian Project last year in Vuma Village on Ovalau when Israel sent its renowned NGO, "IsraAID" to help rebuild 24 houses that were destroyed by Tropical Cyclone Winston in Vuma.
