After spending the first 10 months of their lives joined together, conjoined twins Di Cecea and Jesipeli Kikau will leave Fiji for Saudi Arabia tomorrow, where they are set to undergo life-changing separation surgery.

The twins were born at the CWM in Suva alongside their sister, Hossana, and have since captured the hearts of many Fijians with their remarkable journey.

The family will travel to King Salman Hospital, where a team of specialist surgeons will carry out the multi-million-dollar operation, fully funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on humanitarian grounds.

The Saudi Government is covering the family's airfares, accommodation and all medical costs, while Fiji's Ministry of Health and Medical Services is providing a medical escort to accompany the family throughout their journey.

The support comes through the close bilateral relationship between Fiji and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, giving the family access to specialist care that would otherwise be beyond reach.

The Ministry of Health says for the Kikau family, tomorrow's flight marks more than an overseas medical trip—it is a journey filled with hope, courage and the possibility of a new beginning.

They say Di Cecea and Jesipeli prepare for one of the most complex surgeries in the world, many Fijians will be keeping the twins, their parents and little Hossana in their thoughts and prayers, hoping the sisters return home healthy and ready to begin the next chapter of their lives.
