Thakor Punja has been granted bail by the Navua Magistrates Court this morning after he was brought to court in another case of alleged marijuana possession.
Punja was allegedly found with 7.14 grams of marijuana at a checkpoint in Pacific Harbour on Thursday night.
He is charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
Police Prosecutor Nitesh Prasad had strongly objected to bail.
Punja has been granted bail on strict conditions, including a $1,000 bail bond, two sureties and a stop departure order.
In a separate matter, he is charged with one count each of unlawful possession of 0.84 grams of methamphetamine, 5.447 grams of cocaine and 6.6 grams of marijuana.
The trial is scheduled from November 30th to December 4th in the Suva Magistrates Court.
