Drua Women fall to Waratahs in Super W Final 34-17

The McDonald's Fijian Drua Women went down 34-17 to the NSW Waratahs in the Super W Grand Final at 4R Stadium in Govind Park, Ba, this afternoon.

The Waratahs were clinical in attack and capitalised on the Drua's early mistakes to take control of the match.

The visitors converted their territorial dominance into points to take a 12-0 lead at halftime.

The Drua came out strongly in the second half and showed glimpses of their attacking brand of rugby, but the Waratahs' defence held firm.

Varanisese Qoro scored the Drua's first try of the match, but the conversion was unsuccessful as the home side reduced the deficit to 12-5.

Despite creating several attacking opportunities, handling errors prevented the Drua from building momentum and adding more points.

The Waratahs maintained their composure and added 22 more points in the second half to put the result beyond doubt.

Sulita Waisega scored the Drua's second try in the closing stages, with the home side finishing the match on 17 points.

The Waratahs' disciplined defence and ability to capitalise on key opportunities proved decisive as they secured the Super W title.
