Shree Guru Nanak Khalsa College produced a dominant second-half performance to defeat Ratu Navula College 3–0 in an exciting Extra Supermarket Fiji Secondary Schools Football Association Championship 2026 Under-19 match at Subrail Park in Labasa.
After a goalless first half, Guru Nanak stepped up in the second half with better attacking play, sharp passing and strong teamwork to secure three valuable points.
Coach Raiyaz Khan praised his players for their teamwork and discipline, saying the boys played a brilliant game and followed the team’s plan throughout the match.
Khan also praised the performance of his midfielders, saying they played an important role in controlling the game and creating goal-scoring opportunities.
He also reflected on their opening match against Vunimono High School, describing it as a tough encounter, with Guru Nanak earning a draw to collect one point.
With the win over Ratu Navula College, the school now has four points from its opening two matches.
Khan says the team’s ultimate goal is clear, which is to win the Under-19 title.
Meanwhile, in the Under-15 category, Nadi Sangam College and AD Patel Secondary School played out a goalless draw, with both teams creating chances but failing to score.
Nadi Sangam College coach Rahil Singh says it was a tough match, but he was proud of the effort shown by his players.
Singh says the team needs to improve its build-up play, create more scoring chances and work on finishing in front of goal.
He says Nadi Sangam College is aiming to end a 20-year wait for a title, with their last championship win coming in 2006.
Singh says bringing the title back to Nadi Sangam College is the team’s dream this season.
He also thanked the fans and players for their support and effort.
