Sandeep Prakash told fijivillage News that his family members were awake at the time and a man was waiting in their backyard.
Prakash says no one was injured during the incident, but clothes and food items were stolen.
He says the matter was reported to the Nausori Police Station last night.
Prakash says while the family is shocked and frightened by what happened, they are thankful that everyone is safe.
He says the safety and well-being of his family are more important than anything else and is urging people to remain alert, look after their families and keep their homes secure.
The Police Forensic went to the scene this morning to collect fingerprint sample.
