The mother of conjoined twins, Akeneta Rokobati Tacaqe says she is very happy and excited knowing her babies will be able to live a normal life after the life-changing surgery.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Mother of twins Di Cecea and Jesipeli Kikau, says the family is currently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where the twins are undergoing a one-month period of observation before their life-changing surgery.
Tacaqe says both babies are doing well and are currently under observation by doctors.
She says the doctors in Riyadh have been very helpful.
Tacaqe says doctors from Fiji’s Paediatric Department were the ones who informed the family that surgery could be provided in Riyadh.
She says her family and friends in Fiji have also been very supportive.
Tacaqe says her workmates at the Fiji Meat Industry Board organised a fundraiser, while both her family and her husband’s family also held fundraisers to help with preparations for the family’s trip to Riyadh.
Tacaqe expresses her gratitude to the people in Fiji who have been praying for the babies and asks them to continue praying for the twins thanking everyone for their love and support.
The twins will remain under observation for the one-month period as their family prepares for the next stage of their medical journey in Riyadh.
