Rewa Street and Flagstaff drug accused indicate they will remain silent

Josua Ravula, Ginna Choi, Peniasi Delai, Yu Yang Feng, Minghui Dai and Zhou Lan have indicated that they will remain silent in the Rewa Street and Flagstaff drug case.

This is after Suva Magistrate Sufia Hamza ruled that the six have a case to answer.

Lawyer for the Chinese nationals, Shirley Tivao told the court that her clients have indicated that they will remain silent, but for proper procedure, the translator needs to explain their rights to them.

Lawyer for Choi and Delai, Jerry Dinati says he needs proper instructions from his clients regarding their decision to remain silent, calling evidence and proceeding with him as their lawyer.

The matter has been adjourned to next Thursday.

It is alleged that Josua Ravula was found with unlawful possession of 42.295 grams of methamphetamine.

Yu Yang Feng, Minghui Dai and Zhou Lan are each charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs for allegedly being found with 39.509 grams of methamphetamine.
