Police are currently investigating the death of a man in Velau Drive, Kinoya who was allegedly beaten up during a joint raid last week.
They are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
It is alleged that the man was assaulted during a raid at his home.
Police confirm an investigation has been directed into the death of the 30-year-old man at the Valelevu Health Centre that was referred to Police by medical officials.
The Criminal Investigations Department will head the investigation.
A post mortem has also been directed to confirm the cause of death.
Initial information gathered from medical officials is that the man had presented himself at the Valelevu Health Centre on Wednesday and was advised that he would need to be admitted to allow for the conduct of further medical tests.
He however signed a discharge slip and returned to his Kinoya home.
Last night, he returned to the health centre, accompanied by his family, as his condition had deteriorated.
Attempts made by health officials to treat his condition were futile.
The information gathered at these initial stages of inquiries are subject to further investigation.
Police say the investigation is also looking into claims that members of the Joint Police and Military Task Force were involved in a raid where the man was present.
