A Fiji-born entrepreneur has fulfilled a dream more than 20 years in the making by bringing advanced skin health treatments from Australia to Fiji.
Speaking during the opening of The Verve Lounge Fiji - Skin Health at TappooCity in Suva, founder Feriel Ali says it has always been her dream to return home and introduce specialised skin health services to Fijians.
Ali says The Verve Lounge is different from a beauty salon or spa because it focuses on improving skin health by treating the deeper layers of the skin.
She says the Suva clinic will introduce advanced treatments that are not widely available in the Pacific, including new skin regeneration technology aimed at improving long-term skin health.
Director Amit Biswas says the business has also been working with local partners to help train Fijians and develop the skills needed to deliver specialised skin health treatments.
Biswas says finding the right people and investing in modern equipment have been some of the biggest challenges, but there has been strong interest from Fijians wanting to learn and work in the industry.
He says the company also plans to introduce more advanced treatments in the future as it continues to expand its services in Fiji.
Biswas has encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams, saying building a business takes time, investment and determination, but people should not wait if they believe in their vision.
