Dominant first half sees Drua beat Rebels 38-28

A dominant first half display laid the platform for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s 38-28 victory over the Rebels in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific.

The Drua led 33-7 at half time.

The Drua started the match in rampant fashion as Ilaisa Droasese scored the first try in the first minute before Selestino Ravutaumada intercepted a Rebels pass to get the second try.

Vilive Miramira was the next on the score sheet as the Drua extended their lead to 19-0 in the first 20 minutes.

The Rebels were next to score to close the score line to 19-7.

Impressive centre Iosefo Masi scored his fifth try of the season to extend the Drua’s lead to 26-7 before Kitione Salawa scored his try to extend the lead to 33-7.

The Rebels scored 3 tries in the second half to Drua’s 1.

Drua captain Meli Derenalagi has thanked the fans for their support and says the focus now turns to the Brumbies.

26th minute - Iosefo Masi scores the fourth try for the Drua after making a brilliant line break. Drua 26 vs Rebels 7

28th minute - The Drua is running rampant at the HFC Bank Stadium as Kitione Salawa scores another try. Drua 33 vs Rebels 7

32nd minute - The Drua defence is strong as they repel the Rebels' attack.
