You can use fireworks from 5pm to midnight on Diwali on Monday however the permitted hours for any other day is from 5pm to 10pm.

According to the Explosives Act 1937, no one is permitted to use or discharge fireworks except during the permitted hours being 5pm to 10pm, however an exception is made for Diwali each year.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, SMEs and Communications is conducting joint inspections to ensure retailers and traders adhere to mandatory fireworks labeling requirements and sale of permitted fireworks.

The Ministry is urging people to check the firework as it must contain all labeling in English, should not be damaged, should not be sold to anyone under 18 years, and people should read and follow the instructions before using it outdoors.

The Ministry is also reminding people not to throw and handle fireworks with bare hands and not to let children handle the fireworks.
