More good news for the people of Labasa as the Damodar Group has announced that they will soon have the first international brand hotel in Labasa, Ramada Encore by Wyndham at Damodar City.

The hotel is expected to be ready by the end of the year.

Executive Director, Div Damodar says the hotel has 40 rooms including three suites, a swimming pool, an 80-seater conference area, a restaurant, a gym, and a bar which will set new standards in the region to accommodate 80 to 100 guests.

Damodar says working with the Wyndham Group has strengthened his confidence in Fiji's tourism industry.

He says the Damodar City development has transformed the landscape and experience of Labasa with over 60 retail outlets now open which is drastically changing the day-to-day life.

Damodar says Damodar City Labasa directly and indirectly employs over 1,500 people positively influencing the supply chain and supporting new businesses in the area.

He adds the teaser is expected to be unveiled in 2025 and 2026 for similar projects in Nadi and Nausori.

While speaking at the launch, Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica says the new Ramada Encore by Wyndham will mark a significant milestone in the region's development.

Kamikamica says that the $6.5 million investment by Damodar North Pte Ltd will elevate accommodation standards in the North.

He also highlights the hotel's role in addressing the rising demand for quality facilities and attracting more visitors to Labasa.

The Deputy Prime Minister further says the government's commitment to continued investment in the North and Damodar North Pte Ltd’s visionary investment in the completion of the hotel is a testament to the vibrant future of Labasa.
