Two charged over alleged $250 Facebook investment scam

Two people aged 50 and 48 have been charged by the Fiji Police Anti-Scam Task Force for allegedly obtaining $250 from a victim through an online investment scam advertised on a Facebook account called “Digital Lifestyle”, which promised a $250 return on a $50 investment.

Police say the victim came across the advertisement on Facebook, which claimed that investing $50 would generate a return of $250.

The victim initially transferred $50 and later transferred another $200.

Police allege the money was received and used by the two accused on 20th November 2025.

The two have each been charged with one count of obtaining financial advantage.

They will appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
