Second suspect arrested in Howell Road temple sacrilege case

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man believed to be the second suspect involved in the Howell Road temple sacrilege case.

The suspect is currently being questioned by Samabula Police as investigations continue into the incident where money and other items were stolen from a temple along Howell Road.

The first suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile, appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court earlier today.

More than $900 was recovered by the investigation team during their inquiries.

According to a temple committee member, $2,000 was stolen on Monday morning.

Police investigations into the matter are continuing.
