Concerns have been raised over alleged incorrect road markings, lack of road signs and illegal parking in parts of Nausori Town.
A concerned citizen has reached out to fijivillage News and is demanding the relevant authorities to carry out an inspection.
In a complaint addressed to relevant authorities, concerns were raised that some areas have lacked proper road markings, road signs and taxi base signs for years, creating confusion and allowing some drivers to park in inappropriate areas.
Nausori Town Council CEO Rajesh Singh earlier clarified that all road markings are in place.
However, this time concerns about incorrect road markings leading to illegal parking has been raised.
Areas identified in the complaint include Nausori Plaza near Hot Bread Kitchen, the taxi base near New Pak’n Save Supermarket opposite Nausori Hospital, and the area around Taras Supermarket.
The Fiji Roads Authority says it will review the current line markings in Nausori Town following concerns raised.
Responding to questions from fijivillage News, FRA says it is aware of the current situation.
The Authority says it carried out extensive road rehabilitation works in Nausori Town late last year, including coordinated line markings aimed at improving traffic flow.
FRA says traffic counts and increased vehicle movements in Nausori have contributed to the concerns raised.
They say the current line markings will be reviewed in consultation with relevant stakeholders, and further programmed works will be carried out if required.
