Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Lako Yani Management Limited Laisenia Qarase has told the Methodist Church leaders that the new management company of the Methodist Church in Fiji, will not have a say on the issue to have Methodist teachers take up Principals and Head Teachers roles in Methodist schools.
Qarase highlighted this in the Methodist Conference today.
This was after the Kinoya Methodist Circuit continued to push for the need to have Methodist congregation members to take up leadership roles in their schools.
A representative of Kinoya Methodist Circuit then asked if Lako Yani Management Limited can take the leading role in pushing for this issue.
Qarase says that the issue will be looked into by the Methodist Church Trust and they will not have a part in it.
He adds that the current government’s appointments are based on merit ensuring that people are appointed in the field they are best specialised in.
