A commercial development project worth 1 million dollars in Nukuloa in Ba is set to create jobs and investment when it is completed in February next year.

The commercial development by Nasura Investment Pte Limited will be done in three stages.

Stage one will house a modern supermarket, six small shops, and space for banking ATM facilities.

Next year will see the development of Stage 2 which will include a Service Station and all associated facilities.

Stage 3 will include the development of facilities targeted towards tourists.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says this project fits very nicely with the government's drive to create the infrastructure and the economic environment that will bring more opportunities to people in rural areas.

Bainimarama says it is also important to recognise the foresight of the landowners and iTaukei Land Trust Board.

He says the land being used for the development is part of Vunadoi Subdivision Lot 1 and falls under the landowning unit of Toge Town Land.
