Prosecutor seeks time for psych evaluation in grandfather’s murder case

State Prosecutor, Naazish Ali has asked the Suva High Court for more time to be given for a proper psychiatric evaluation to be done on the man who allegedly killed his 86-year-old grandfather in Navokadamu Settlement, Lutu, Wainibuka.


It is alleged that Charles Sundar attacked his grandfather with a cane knife, causing serious injuries that resulted in his death in July, last year.


Sundar appeared before Justice Usaia Ratuvili this morning.


He is charged with one count of murder.


His case will be called again on January 20.
