A 3-year-old child is among three alleged drowning cases currently under investigation, while the search continues for a missing 20-year-old man in Sigatoka.

Police say the child was found floating in a river near Lawaki Village in Tailevu on Friday afternoon after the incident was reported at the Korovou Police Station.

The second case involves a 20-year-old man who went missing after he was allegedly swept away by strong currents while diving off Naevuevu Village in Sigatoka on Friday.

The incident was reported by a 15-year-old who was with him, and search efforts have so far been unsuccessful.

In the third case, the body of a 68-year-old farmer was recovered from waters off Yadua in Sigatoka on Saturday afternoon by a joint search team who is believed to have drowned after his boat capsized.

Investigations into all three cases are continuing.
