Westpac Pacific Managing Director Emma Low accorded traditional welcoming ceremony by Westpac Suva branch staff

The Westpac Bank Suva branch staff accorded a Fijian traditional welcome to the new Managing Director Westpac Pacific Emma Low as she makes her first visit to Fiji since her appointment in April this year.

The staff also accorded a traditional welcome to two other executives from the Westpac Group, Richard Holmes, who is the Chief Information Officer for Business and Wealth and Maria Stefanac, Westpac Head of HR Pacific Banking and Sustainability.

Low took over from her predecessor, Damien MacRae, to lead the Pacific Business which includes Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

Previously, Low was the Chief Operations Officer at Westpac Pacific, during which she led various strategic initiatives across Fiji and PNG since 2022.

She has over 20 years of experience in financial services, covering financial markets and servicing a global investor base across Singapore, America and Australia.

In her speech, Low says it is a privilege to have this opportunity to lead the Pacific Business which has always been close to her heart, from when he first started working with Westpac in Asia.

Low says since Westpac’s announcement to stay in the Pacific, they have launched their new corporate uniforms - designed internally and reflect Fiji and PNG’s rich culture in the motifs.

She says they have also continued their commitment to support local businesses and embarked on the journey to improve digital and service capabilities, as well as community programs in financial literacy and education.

She adds she is excited by what they can achieve together, starting with visits to their teams and branches including Labasa, and Savusavu this week.

Low further says as a business, Westpac is proud to share the legacy they have built so far in Fiji and will continue to grow alongside their customers, communities Fijian Businesses as they have done since 1901.
