Fiji's export markets is expected to be further boosted and more jobs will be created following the re-launch of the locally-produced mineral water plant, 18 Degrees Fiji Mineral Water today.

The company is owned by Fiji-born international business tycoon, Hamid Ali who says that they will soon bring in KFC, Taco Bells and some other franchises here to Fiji to create more jobs.

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama officiated at the event today and thanked Ali for investing back into the country, post COVID-19.

He says Ali's investment will mean more employment opportunities for our locals and it will further boost socio-economic activities.

Ali says there are bigger plans in place to invest further in Fiji.

He says they are a diversified company and they have investments in Singapore, Malaysia, Netherlands, USA and Morocco to name a few.

Ali says being a Fiji-born, he wanted to come back and invest in Fiji under the leadership of Prime Minister Bainimarama.

He says Fiji is a great place to invest in and that's why they are diversifying in different sectors.

Ali says he and his wife are extremely proud to be investing back into the country.

Meanwhile, the bottling facility is currently undergoing a major restoration and refurbishment which is estimated to cost about $2 million.

Ali says they have ordered other machines from Italy and will bring in their engineers to work on the bottling plant.

He adds this will become an internationally-recognized state-of-the-art bottling plant that will provide high-quality water.

The bottling plant is located in Nasau along Nadi Back Road.
