2023 Pacific Greenpreuners graduates

It was an exciting day and a great achievement for 27 people today as they graduated from the 2023 Pacific Greenpreuners and received funding to expand their businesses.

This includes 12 people from the Accelerator Greenpreuner program and 15 people from the Incubator Greenpreuner program under the Global Green Growth Institute where six winners were awarded seed grants of about $11,250 while 10 participants received funding of around $113,000 to develop their green and sustainable businesses.

While speaking during the graduation ceremony, Assistant Minister for Finance Esrom Immanuel says that the Incubator and Accelerator program play an important role in shaping the landscape of green entrepreneurship in our region.

He says these programs have been nurturing the seeds of sustainable business ideas for building a resilient future for our people, protecting our environment, and ensuring sustainable economic growth.

Emmanuel says together they have embarked on numerous projects, each contributing significantly to FIji's sustainable development through green growth and climate change adaptation.

While commending the graduates, the Assistant Minister says their innovative solutions and sustainable business models are the key to addressing climate change and driving economic growth in an environmentally responsible manner.

The Incubator and Accelerator program is part of the Pacific Green Entrepreneurs Network, a 3-year regional program funded by the Qatar Fund for Development and implemented by GGGI which aims to support green and inclusive job growth by supporting entrepreneurs, particularly for women and youth who are aimed at contributing to the country’s climate and sustainable development goals in six Pacific Island countries, including Fiji.
