It wasn’t a classic match, but it was a big statement from the All Blacks defeating South Africa 33-16 this morning.

South Africa had two players in the sin bin, and for the world’s top-ranked team, it was a major blow.

New Zealand deserve credit for staying calm under pressure, defending well and taking their chances.

It has been 30 years since Sean Fitzpatrick led the All Blacks to their first series win in South Africa.

The 2026 team has made a strong start to their own series.

The All Blacks scored five tries to South Africa’s one.

They even dominated the scrums late in the match, removing one of South Africa’s main strengths.

The All Blacks second test is next Sunday at 3am, followed by the third Test on September 6th at 3am, with the fourth and final Test on September 13th at 3am.
