Fiji’s rugby powerhouse Nadroga will become the first provincial side to play in the United Arab Emirates when they meet Saracens next month.
Team official, Tiko Matawalu has confirmed that the invitation was sent to the Fiji Rugby Union to play Saracens in the UAE but with the Pacific Rugby Cup starting at the end of this month they could not find a team and have asked Nadroga to replace them.
Matawalu said that the Nadroga boys in the Fiji 7s team will be part of the 30 member travelling squad which will leave in the second week of March.
It will be the first time for the English and the Fijian rugby champions to play in Abu Dhabi and they will take a full-strength squad for the journey.
Chairman Nigel Wray said that Saracens is looking forward to a tough match against a team packed with Fijian internationals and to experience the fantastic facilities created Equestrian, Shooting and Golf club in UAE.
