The condition of about $5 million worth of air craft’s, belonging to Air Fiji Limited is slowly deteriorating as the airline company remains closed for seven months now.
Air Fiji shut down operations in mid April and all its air craft remain standing idle in hangers in Nausori and Nadi with no maintenance work to upgrade their conditions.
Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji CEO Netava Waqa also confirms that the license for these plans has now expired and the air craft are no longer in flying condition.
There is still no word from the shareholders of Air Fiji on its future as over 170 employees remain out of work since April this year.
A shareholders meeting to discuss Air Fiji's future and plans to revive operations was held in July, but to date, there is no word on what will happen to Air Fiji, its employees and its 13 air craft’s.
