Alleged murderers to be sentenced tomorrow

The fate of Eparama Niume, Joveci Naika and Apenisa Lino will be known tomorrow when High court judge, Justice Priyantha Fernando hands down their sentence.

This is after a unanimous guilty verdict by the three assessors last week for the three accused in relation to a murder trial in the Suva High court.

The three men are allegedly involved in the death of a couple, Ashok Chand and Mohini Lata of Valelevu in December 2009.

The bodies of the couple were discovered by police in their soap factory home in Valelevu Nasinu in December 2009.

Niume and Naika were found guilty of two counts of murder while Lino was found guilty for one count of accessory to effect murder.

The sentence will be decided at 9.30am tomorrow.
