A family in Nadi is mourning the loss of their 21 year old son after he lost his life on our roads this morning.
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said despite warnings from the Fiji Police Force on not to drink and drive, people are still doing so with grave consequences.
Inspector Sokomuri said the 21 year old security officer was a passenger in a vehicle that veered off the road and hit a post just before Yako village in Nadi around 2 o'clock this morning.
Sokomuri said the two were allegedly drunk and were travelling towards Yako village when the driver lost control of the vehicle, instantly claiming the life of the security officer.
The driver is admitted at Nadi hospital.
Meanwhile, a 23 year old man is admitted at the Lautoka hospital after he was bumped by a car last night.
Inspector Sokomuri said the victim was returning home from a drinking party when he was bumped by the car driven by a 30 year old man.
The incident happened in Ba around 10.30 last night.
Still on road accidents, a 29 year old man is admitted at the CWM hospital after receiving serious injuries in a road accident yesterday afternoon.
According to Police, the accident happened in Lakeba Lau yesterday afternoon around 2pm when the 29 year old who was under the influence of alcohol bumped into a coconut tree, injuring himself and three others who were sent home after being cleared.
The 29 year old man was airlifted to CWM Hospital.
