Fiji’s first multiracial school Marist Brothers High School has officially launched their 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Celebrations for this year with a Mass today.
Marist was formally established as St Felix College in 1937 in Toorak before moving to Flagstaff.
Former Marist student from 1959-1962 and Honorary Marist Brother Ikbal Janiff said the school’s multi racialism has evolved over time, and back in his days, only i-Taukei students would wear sulu while Europeans, Chinese and Indians would wear shorts with long white socks.
However, these days that has changed.
Janiff added changing times has altered how he sees Marist Brothers High School today.
