The celebrations were launched today by the Chinese Education Society Fiji and the Fiji Yat Sen Alumni.

The launch coincided with the school's official birthday on 15th June, marking the date Yat Sen School first opened its doors in 1936.
The celebrations will honour the proud legacy of Yat Sen Primary School's 90 years and Yat Sen Secondary School's 40 years of contribution to education in Fiji.
A new anniversary logo was also unveiled during the launch.
Speaking at the event, Chinese Education Society Trustee Ken Kung says reaching 90 years for the primary school and 40 years for the secondary school is a significant milestone.Kung, who attended the school from 1963 to 1970, reflected on the school's achievements over the years and acknowledged the many former students who have gone on to become successful in their respective fields.
He says it is encouraging to see former students continuing to support and contribute to the growth of the school.
Chinese Education Society President Newton Yuen thanked the school board and organising committee for their efforts in preparing for the anniversary celebrations.Those present at the launch included Chinese Education Society Vice President Glennis Yee, Trustee Ken Kung, Fiji Yat Sen Alumni Public Relations Representative Tegumailagi Toganivalu, the head boy and head girl of both the primary and secondary schools, and members of the school board.
The anniversary celebrations will begin on 17th September with a cocktail evening.
This will be followed by a cultural show on 18th September, a gala dinner on 19th September, and a farewell Sota Tale Market on 20th September.
