International Sportswear manufacturer opens new plant in Lautoka
Australian-based international Sportswear manufacturer Kooga recently opened its new plant in Tavakubu, Lautoka with about 120 local people employed.

Kooga's Chief Executive Officer Kim Brant said it took them 12 months to establish the plant which was tough but they managed to work it out with Investment Fiji.

Brant said he chose to open this new plant in Fiji because it was becoming very expensive to manufacture in Australia and Fiji is also closer to their headquarters in Australia.

He said Fiji is also his personal choice because he has been coming to the country for more than 10 years.

Brant added that they are very proud to be operating in Fiji and will be looking at employing more locals.

Kooga produces jersies for the Fiji Rugby Union, the Wallabies, Western Force, Brumbies and Melbourne Storm.

The company produced jerseys for 17 teams during the Rugby World Cup in 2011.

Kooga is now trading as BLK or Beyond Limits Known.
