Style Fiji 2026 to turn glamour into action for HIV awareness

Style Fiji 2026 will support HIV Fiji as one of its charity partners this year, with organisers hoping to use the country's premier fashion event to help raise awareness and funds for one of Fiji's most pressing public health challenges.

Speaking at the launch of Style Fiji 2026 last night, Style Fiji committee member and Creative Director, Samson Lee, said while fashion is what brings people together, the event has always been driven by a greater purpose.

Lee says Fiji is facing one of the most significant public health challenges in its history, with HIV cases rising sharply in recent years.

He says behind every statistic is a person, a family and a future, and far too many people continue to live with stigma, fear and misunderstanding.

Lee says through Style Fiji, they hope to shine a light on the cause by supporting HIV Fiji in its work to assist people living with and affected by HIV, educate communities and advocate for a healthier Fiji.

He says the event aims to replace fear with understanding and stigma with hope through fashion, generosity and unity.

Lee also announced that the Fiji Mobility Alliance, formerly the Spinal Injury Association of Fiji, will again benefit from this year's event after Style Fiji raised $50,000 for the organisation during last year's show.

He says the funds are already making a meaningful difference, with the alliance expecting a shipment of assistive devices later this year to support people with disabilities across Fiji.

Meanwhile, Style Fiji 2026 will be held on 7th November at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort under the theme "A Midsummer Night's Dream," inspired by William Shakespeare's classic play.

A new addition this year will be the Style Fiji Market, which will be held on the morning of the fashion show and showcase local designers, artisans, makers and small businesses.

Lee says organisers hope the market will become an annual tradition celebrating Fijian creativity while encouraging people to support local businesses.

Tickets for Style Fiji 2026 is officially on sale following last night's launch.
