The Flying Fijian worse fears were realized during the scrums in their loss to France this morning, with just 9 months away from the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Fiji lost to France 34-12 this morning and although boosted with the inclusion of 9 players that were part of the side that lost to South Africa in the quarter final of the 2007 World Cup, they failed to put together a performance that they will be proud of against the Six Nation champions.
The hosts scored three tries and one came when the Fijian scrum crumbled under the posts with ten minutes left, and referee Andrew Small handed France five points under the posts.
France will face Argentina next week having learnt very little from the match where they were seldom troubled, but failed to find any rhythm.
Manager, Talemo Waqa said that the coaching staff have noted the weak areas in today's game where there expect to improve on in the second game against Wales.
Waqa added that the only set piece that worked for them was the line out where Wame Lewaravu and Semisi Naevo stood their ground against the French.
In other international test this morning, All Blacks thumped Scotland 49-3, England proved too good winning 35-18 against Australia, Ireland defeated Samoa 20-10 and South Africa edge Wales 29-25.
