Fulori Rainibogi has become the first woman appointee for the Deputy Divisional Commander of Police Northern.
Rainibogi who has been in the Force for 33 years says she is honoured by the appointment and knows it comes with challenges.
There are 879 women police officers in Fiji, making up 20 per cent of the force.
The highest rank held by a female police officer at the moment is that by Senior Superintendent and Human Resource Director Unaisi
Vuniwaqa.
Rainibogi holds the second highest rank as Sergeant.
