Saimoni Rokotunidau, who is charged with the attempted murder of a female police officer at the Laqere checkpoint earlier this year, was arrested this morning after being on the run.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Kasiano Vusonilawe says Rokotunidau was arrested by officers from the Serious Organised Crime Unit, K9 Unit and Valelevu CID at a residence on Nasinu Road.
Rokotunidau did not appear in court yesterday when his case was called before Suva High Court Judge Justice Dane Tuiqereqere.
State lawyer Hezekiah Nofaga informed Justice Tuiqereqere that Rokotunidau had sold his property.
Rokotunidau is charged with one count each of attempted murder, unlawful possession of illicit drugs, going equipped, serious assault, and refusing to have his fingerprints and photographs taken.
