Registered vendors warned not to sell cigarettes individually
A Tobacco Registration Certificate does not give vendors and business owners the power to sell cigarettes individually.

This warming comes from the Health Ministry after some vendors are continuing to sell single cigarette rolls using their registration certificate.

Spokesperson Peni Namotu said this is illegal and if vendors are caught they will be liable to pay a fine of $1000.

Vendors who are not registered and caught selling cigarettes are liable to pay a spot fine of $5,000.

Meanwhile the deadline for registration of a tobacco certificate has been extended from December 31st to a final date to be announced soon.
