Pathologist Takes Stand in Malasebe Case
Post mortem results show that Tevita Malasebe, who was allegedly murdered while in police custody, had 35 injuries on him.

In the case filed against 8 police officers from Valelevu Police Station, CWM Pathologist Dr Prashant Sambakar took the stand and said he conducted external and internal examinations on Malasebe.

The pathologist highlighted that he found bruises in the brain which he believes could be caused after a vigorous shaking of the head. He said there was swelling in the front and back of the brain and the sections of the brain was conjected.

He also said part of the lungs showed that it collapsed.

The eight officers are charged with the alleged murder of Malasebe in June last year after he was taken into custody for questioning for alleged crimes he had committed.

The case is continues this afternoon in the Suva High Court.
