Swire Shipping Fijian Drua prop Emosi Tuqiri was pleased with the progress shown by his Navosa side after they edged bottom-of-the-table Rewa 39-38 in a thrilling Skipper Cup encounter.
The match was closely contested, with Navosa eventually holding on for a narrow one-point victory.
Tuqiri, who also captains Navosa, says he was happy with the result and believes the standard of Skipper Cup rugby has improved significantly.
The Australia-based prop says it was a tough game, but they are happy with the result.
He says the standard of the Skipper Cup has really improved, with more structure in the game, which can be seen in the way teams are playing.
Despite the narrow margin, Tuqiri says the match provided valuable lessons for Navosa as they continue to develop throughout the competition.
On Saturday, Tailevu will meet Suva, Taveuni will host Lautoka, Nadroga will face Naitasiri, Kadavu will take on Navosa, while Malolo will face Nadi.
All matches will kick off at 3pm, with the venues yet to be confirmed.
