Samples collected from 29-year-old Rajnish Lal, who died at the Nausori Health Centre last weekend, have been sent to New Zealand for testing as Police investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
Lal, who was a nurse, had taken his sick friend to the health centre last weekend after his friend started vomiting following a night of drinking kava and alcohol.
Lal fainted while taking care of his friend and was pronounced dead on Sunday morning.
His friend remains admitted in hospital and is in a stable condition.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Loraini Seru has told fijivillage News that as investigations continue and post mortem examination completed, tests are being conducted on samples collected from Lal.
