An early goal from Ismael Saibari was enough to give Morocco a 1-0 victory over Scotland in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group C match.

Morocco made the perfect start, with Saibari finding the back of the net in just 1 minutes and 11 seconds to give his side an early advantage.

Saibari's strike is the fastest goal of the tournament to date, but it is still well behind the all-time World Cup record of 10.8 seconds set by Hakan Şükür for Turkey against South Korea in 2002

Scotland struggled to break down the Moroccan defence and was unable to find an equaliser as Morocco secured all three points.

Morocco entered the match after earning a 1-all draw against Brazil in their opening Group C fixture, while Scotland began their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Haiti.

Morocco is making its seventh FIFA World Cup appearance. Their best result came at the 2022 FIFA World Cup when they became the first African nation to reach the semi-finals.

Scotland, meanwhile, is competing in its ninth FIFA World Cup. Their previous best performances came when they reached the group stage in each of their eight previous appearances.

Morocco will face Haiti in their final Group C match next Thursday at 10am, while Scotland will take on Brazil at the same time.

Meanwhile, USA beat Australia 2-0 earlier this morning.

Brazil will take on Haiti at 12.30pm, while Turkey will face Paraguay at 3pm.
