George Bower has been named in the All Blacks' 23-member team that will face the Springboks in their first “Greatest Rivalry” tour match tomorrow morning.
Bower has been named on the bench and will provide cover in the forwards.
Head coach Dave Rennie has recalled several star players, with Cam Roigard, Will Jordan and Damian McKenzie named in the starting side in Johannesburg.
The trio return from injury to take their places in the team, while Ardie Savea resumes the captaincy after being rested for the first three games of the South African tour.
Savea starts at number eight, with coach Dave Rennie retaining the loose-forward trio from last month's win against Ireland, with Luke Jacobson at openside flanker and Tupou Vaa'i at blindside.
Codie Taylor starts at hooker, with Tyrel Lomax and Ethan de Groot named as the starting props.
Rennie says they cannot wait to run out at Ellis Park tomorrow morning and, after all the build-up and anticipation, the entire touring squad is excited to get the first Test underway.
The All Blacks will face the Springboks at 3am tomorrow.
They will then play the second Test next Sunday at 3am, followed by the third Test on September 6th at 3am, with the fourth and final Test on September 13th at 3am.
