Defending champions Argentina have beaten Egypt 3-2 in their FIFA World Cup Round of 16 clash after staging a stunning comeback.
Egypt had taken a 2-0 lead before Argentina fought their way back into the match.
It is a heartbreaking loss for Egypt as they nearly pulled it off.
Defender Yasser Ibrahim scored for Egypt, while another Egyptian goal in the 58th minute was ruled out for a foul.
However, Mostafa Zico scored shortly afterwards to extend Egypt’s lead.
Argentina centre-back Cristian Romero pulled one back in the 79th minute after an assist from Lionel Messi.
Messi, who had earlier missed a penalty, scored in the 83rd minute to level the scores at 2-2.
Enzo Fernández then scored a goal to complete the comeback and secure a 3-2 victory.
Argentina have booked their place in the quarter-finals, where they will face either Switzerland or Colombia.
